Nonprofit organizations are the heart of generous giving communities like Leander, and we’re excited to share that the first annual “Amplify Wilco Day” will take place on March 6th–7th, 2024.
What Is Amplify Wilco Day?
Organized by I Live Here I Give Here, Amplify Wilco Day is a 24-hour giving event that spotlights local nonprofits and encourages Williamson County residents, community members, and businesses to donate to community causes they care about. It will be held from 6 pm on the 6th to 6 pm on the 7th in conjunction with the wildly successful Amplify Austin Day.
Since its inception in 2013, Amplify Austin has raised more than $102.7 million for over 1,400 nonprofits throughout Central Texas and is the biggest giving event in the area. 2023 garnered $9.9 million, while 2022’s event raised $13 million. In the same way, Williamson County residents are looking forward to contributing to hyper-local charities and causes.
“We know that the needs and the services provided in Williamson County are very different from those in Austin and other parts of Central Texas, so we’re really excited to be able to do this for the first time,” says Robynne Parkington of I Live Here I Give Here.
Campaign Kick-Off Event
Community members are invited and encouraged to attend the Amplify Wilco kick-off event at the Georgetown, TX, Square on March 6th from 4 to 6 pm. There will be shopping and dining options available and, of course, opportunities to donate to your favorite cause(s).
Locals can also begin donating early to any of the more than 60 nonprofit organizations from all over Williamson County participating in the fundraising event, and online donations are accepted.
