Leander ISD elementary school attendance zoning has been approved! The LISD board of trustees approved the plan on February 25th. It will take effect in August when Tarvin Elementary, the district’s 28th elementary school, opens. The new school is expected to open for the 2022-23 school year.
The two rezoning plans will impact Tarvin Elementary and an unnamed 29th elementary school. The rezone will combine both schools to avoid confusion for families and reduce overlapping.
The First Rezoning Plan
The first rezoning plan will offer overcrowding relief from Parkside and Pleasant Hill elementary schools by sending kids to the new elementary school. It will also keep Hazlewood and Cold Spring neighborhood kids at Akin Elementary. But this won’t help Akin Elementary until the 30th elementary school opens, which will be the 2023-24 school year. The 30th elementary school is planned for Cedar Park near the Ranch at Brushy Creek neighborhood.
Neighborhood codes 1175, 1180, 1185, and 1210 for Pleasant Hill Elementary will move to Tarvin. Codes 1200, 1205, 1225, and 1245 for Parkside Elementary will also move to Tarvin. Find your neighborhood code here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KbVcULjpwjx2A7dLdU6lv_x0uBgrNkpz/view
The Second Rezoning Plan
The second rezoning plan is for the unnamed 29th elementary school. It will go into effect in 2022 and will help with overcrowding at Larkspur and Plain elementary schools. Number 29 elementary school is expected to reach full capacity by the 2026-27 school year.
Neighborhood codes 1100, 1115, and 1120 from Larkspur Elementary and code 1150 from Plain Elementary will attend the new 29th elementary school. Find your neighborhood code here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KbVcULjpwjx2A7dLdU6lv_x0uBgrNkpz/view
