Updates On Six Leander Transportation Projects

Leander is growing, and the city knows it! That’s why they’ve worked on solutions for transportation in Leander. Here is the latest on six projects.

Bagdad Road and San Gabriel Parkway traffic signal

This project will add a fourth traffic signal to the intersection in hopes of helping control traffic. The project is on hold until a traffic signal pole is delivered. It is being funded by the Leander Capital Improvement Program for $99,668.60. The timeline is TBD.

CR 290 at Hero Way West intersection

This project added left and right turn lanes on CR 290. This allows westbound cars to turn onto Hero Way West when there’s another vehicle at the intersection. The project was approved in November and was substantially completed on February 24th. It might need further widening in the future because the country road crosses through Travis and Williamson counties and could eventually become a city road. The project was funded by the Leander Capital Improvement Program for $236,701.50.

Intersection Projects

Four intersection projects across the city are substantially completed as of March 4th:

  1. A turning lane and pedestrian crossway were added to Crystal Falls Parkway and Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
  2. A right-turn lane and pedestrian crossway were added to Journey Parkway and Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
  3. An access driveway was added at Lakeline Boulevard and Crystal Falls Parkway.
  4. An additional lane was added so it’s easier for trucks to turn at Leander Drive and Crystal Falls Parkway.

These projects are funded by the Leander traffic impact fee fund for $1,035,850.41.
