Cedar Park Business Update
Shop LC, a television shopping network and online retailer for jewelry and lifestyle items, is coming to Cedar Park! The Cedar Park City council approved their $50 million capital investment to build a 200,000 square foot national headquarters. The headquarters will be made at E. New Hope Drive and N. Bell Boulevard and should have finished construction by September 30th, 2024.
It will be Cedar Park’s largest employer as it’ll bring in 1,000 jobs to the city. Part of the agreement includes Shop LC hiring and maintaining 1,000 full-time employees by September 30, 2033. The company’s combined yearly payroll for employees is $75 million.
Leander School Update
Leander’s 2021 annual demographic report reveals that Leander ISD could have about 9,000 more students in the school district. 9,000 is the moderate growth rate. It could be as low as 2,600 or as high as 13,000. To counteract this growth, the district plans to build six new elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
Leander ISD’s 29th elementary school is under construction at 1840 Pleasant Hill Road and will open for the 2022-2023 school year in the Bryson subdivision in Leander. The board reviewed the suggestions at their December 16th meeting.
