Horizon Lake is the latest development to come to Leander! Construction only recently began in December to start building the 480 homes in the new development. Here’s what to expect with the 200-acre development and how you can get one of these homes!
Horizon Lake Homes
Homes are built by Taylor Morrison and Pulte home builders. There are 14 designs for homebuyers to choose from. Homes will have a two-car garage, 2-4.5 bathrooms, and 3-5 bedrooms. The first and most affordable design, Barrett, starts at $401,990 with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths in a 1,565 square foot home. The biggest is the Woodland, with 2,947 square feet, 4-5 bedrooms, and 3.5-4.5 bathrooms. It starts at $470,990. The first homes will be ready near the end of 2022. We estimate the tax rate for Horizon Lake to be 2.379845%. But it has not been confirmed yet.
Horizon Lake Area
The community will have 78 acres of open space with a 24-acre lake reservoir, a fishing pier, a pavilion, and children’s playscapes and walking trails. The neighborhood is near US 183 and RM 2243, so it’s perfect for commuters as it’s only minutes away from the Leander Station and MetroRail Red Line. Both of those public transportations give great access to downtown Austin.
Horizon Lake is also near the Forum Shopping Center, where there’s a brand new H-E-B Plus. In Cedar Park, there’s the Parke Retail Center and the 1890 Ranch Shopping Center for more options.
Residents under eighteen are zoned for schools in the Leander Independent School District. They will attend Pleasant Hill Elementary School, Knox Wiley Middle, and Rouse High School.
