A Thrilling Development Coming To Leander
One project, located on the southbound side of 183A/Hero Way, has been in development for a long time but was officially announced at the Leander Summit – A Home Depot! This will be the nationwide chain’s very first location in Leander.
The City first voted in favor of rezoning this project in August, approving incentives of up to $2.5 million for public infrastructure improvements, and in early September, the Leander City Council voted to rezone 15 acres on the northwest corner of Hero Way and 183A, which will be the location of the city’s store.
Since this exciting development is still in the beginning stages, there aren’t a lot of details about the physical store to share, but some food for thought: the average Home Depot store is roughly 100,000 square feet in size, and in 2022, Home Depot employed over 6,000 people in the Austin area according to Business Insider.
The addition of this nationwide chain will be a welcome development in Leander. Over the past several years, Leander has been named one of the fastest-growing cities across Texas and the entire country, attracting new residents and significant developers to its charming community. This Home Depot will only add to this draw, with the next closest store in Cedar Park, making it a prominent hub for Leander residents.
