The Leander Independent School District (LISD) Board of Trustees has officially approved the academic calendar for the 2025–2026 school year. The calendar, developed with community feedback, includes key dates to help families plan ahead for a successful school year.
Key Dates for the 2025–2026 School Year
- First Day of School: Wednesday, August 13, 2025
- New Student and Staff Holidays:
- October 16–17, 2025
- February 12–13, 2026
- Staff Development Days (No School for Students):
- October 20, 2025
- February 16, 2026
- Fall Break: November 24–28, 2025
- Winter Break: December 22, 2025 – January 2, 2026
- Spring Break: March 16–20, 2026 (aligns with Austin Community College’s schedule)
- Last Day of School: Friday, May 29, 2026 (after Memorial Day)
- Early Release Days: December 19, 2025, and May 29, 2026
- Election Day Holiday & Continuous Improvement Conference: November 3–4, 2025
- Additional Staff Development Days: September 22, 2025; January 5, 2026; March 23, 2026; and April 6, 2026
The newly added two-day breaks in October and February were implemented in response to community requests for additional rest periods during the school year. As a result, the academic year will now extend slightly past Memorial Day, concluding on May 29, 2026.
