Crystal Falls, one of Leander’s more well-known neighborhoods, was Leander’s first master-planned community. The Austin Business Journal once voted Crystal Falls as “Best Master Planned Community.” Crystal Falls began with a few hundred homes in 2000 but now has 3,000 acres and 3,600 homes spread across eight communities. The neighborhood offers various homes ranging from custom million dollar homes, traditional homes, townhomes, and cottage living, so there’s something for everyone!
The area includes a golf course and clubhouse for golf enthusiasts. Other amenities include two resort-style swimming complexes, kids’ playgrounds, a fishing lake, sand volleyball and tennis court, disc golf course, and nature walking trails and picnic areas throughout the community. Quarry Park, located in the center of Crystal Falls, is 11.5 acres of fun! The Grotto pool has three waterfalls and underwater seating. Within the area, there are limestone tables, open grills, a playscape, and covered pavilion seating.
This community is close to schools like Whitestone Elementary, Knowles Elementary, and Winkley Elementary. Those elementary schools are zoned for Running Brushy Middle School and Leander Middle School, which then flows into Leander High School. Whitestone Elementary is adjacent to the Fairways at Crystal Falls, and Winkley Elementary is in The Highlands at Crystal Falls. Runnings Brushy Middle School is within walking distance from The Highlands at Crystal Falls. Leander High School is only three blocks south of the Crystal Falls entrance. Leander Independent School District is one of the faster-growing school districts with over 34,000 students across 37 schools. The district itself is 200 square miles.
