The City of Leander has plenty to celebrate this month, from the official start of a blossoming spring season to exciting local developments! Let’s take a look at what projects are in the works this month:
Capital Metro Project
In order to improve the MetroRail Red Line, Capital Metro has been implementing several projects across the state. Recently, the company directed its attention to Leander in an effort to enhance the transportation experience for residents and visitors. The project included the addition of double tracks to the railway between Lakeline Station and Leander Station that would allow trains to run simultaneously. The project cost approximately $8 million and was funded by CapMetro.
River Ranch County Park
Nestled between Leander and Liberty Hill, the highly anticipated River Ranch County Park project is showing significant improvement, with plans to open for business this year. The 1,354-acre park focuses primarily on usable green space and has been in progress since the county broke ground in December 2018. While the county is not yet ready to announce an official opening date, Russell Fishbeck, the Williamson County Senior Director of Parks, is very optimistic about the project: “It’s coming along very nicely, and we’re going to reach that finish line real soon.”
Leander Fleet Vehicles
Leander City Council recently approved a $302,006 purchase for up to seven fleet vehicles to help the demand throughout the city. The vehicles will be distributed across several departments, with two approved for the engineering department and one vehicle each for general services, code enforcement, emergency management, building inspections, and golf maintenance.
With even more exciting developments, new businesses, and local renovations like these on the horizon for Leander, it’s no surprise that this beautiful city is one of the best places to call home. Contact The Cummings Team® to find your dream home in Leander!
